![]() ![]() I would like to see a much darker reincarnation of the movie using actual scenes from the book. The movie is great but the book is just so much better. Of course, being made of tin, it doesn’t hurt him so all the bees die once they lose their stingers. Finally, the witch sends a swarm of bees to sting them to death but Tinman steps up again and allows the bees to sting him. Next, she sends forty crows to attack but the Scarecrow twists all of their necks until all of them are dead. The Tinman chops off all forty of their heads, however. Forty wolves are sent to maul them to death. The Wicked Witch of the West sends servants to destroy Dorothy and her crew. The Tinman being chopped up into pieces isn’t the only gory part in the book. Not the book! The darkness in the book is great and there is definitely violence. The movie is very watered down and filtered to not be so dark. Why they would change something so simple is beyond me. In the book, Dorothy does not meet Glinda until just about the very end. She welcomes Dorothy and kisses her forehead for protection on her journey down the yellow brick road. The first witch Dorothy meets in the book is the Good Witch of the North. If you have only seen the movie then you assume Glinda is the first witch Dorothy meets when she lands in Oz. Collects The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (2008) 1-8, The Marvelous Land of Oz (2009) 1-8. For obvious reasons the movie did not show this part. Oz: The Complete Collection - Wonderful Wizard/Marvelous Land (Trade Paperback) Oz: The Complete Collection - Wonderful Wizard/Marvelous Land (Trade Paperback) Published: Janu. The Tinman was luckily put back together with pieces of tin by a local tinsmith. The witch cursed the Tinman’s axe to chop him up into pieces. She wanted her around to do all the chores so she struck a deal with the Wicked Witch of the West. He was in love with a beautiful munchkin girl but the woman the munchkin girl lived with did not want her to get married and leave. ![]() Okay, cool! What the movies does not show, however, is that the Tinman was actually once a real man. The Tinman in the movie rusts stiff when he is rained on while chopping wood one day. It Was All a Dream… (I used to read Word Up Magazine) ![]() But where did the movie go wrong? Here are some of the major differences between the book and the movie: (Spoiler alert) The books are so good but overshadowed by the movie’s addicting magic. And did you know there were a total of 15 books in the Oz series? Shame on all of us. I am guilty of having watched the movie about 50 times before I ever read the book. Did a munchkin really die on set? Does Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon really match-up with the movie? Was Glinda, the good witch, actually the true villain in the movie? All these fan theories and the success of the film have placed the book on the back-burner, in my opinion. The movie, unlike the book, is so mysterious and surrounded by fan theories. The cinematography and editing techniques…” To quote the classic villain Tony Perkis, “It was wonderful. It is one of my favorite films and I never get tired of watching it. The movie, which is also a timeless classic, is just as awesome and is considered one of the greatest films of all time. Even today, almost 120 years after its original publication, the book captures the imagination of adults and children alike. ![]() ![]() It's been.a while since I've gotten into minecraft modding on my own, occasionally poking my head back in when it suits me to check out the newest and the latest for a while before fading back out once again. High School Musical 2 is big, bright, and energetic. While it suffers from a bit of sequel-itis, the soundtrack isn't outright bad too much is at stake for Disney for it to be terrible. High School Musical 2's lack of inspiration really shows on its bigger numbers: the soundtrack closes with "Everyday" and "All for One," two wannabe rousing songs that blend into one big, bland singalong. Meanwhile, "You Are the Music in Me" is a big, sweeping love song that sounds fairly funky and young while nodding to show tune traditions. A few of High School Musical 2's songs balance story and character-intensive lyrics with memorable melodies as nimbly as the original movie's music did, including "Work This Out," which finds the gang livening up their summer jobs, and "I Don't Dance," which turns big-band brass, a melody borrowed from Prince, and a stomp section into a jock jam. However, her turn on the Polynesian-flavored "bonus" track "Humuhumunukunukuapua'a" crosses the line from cute to far too cutesy, and could be the final straw for listeners past their early teens. A childhood musical theater veteran herself, Tisdale's chirpy, slightly saccharine voice is perfect (and sometimes, perfectly annoying) on songs like "Fabulous," a piece of diva-tastic pop that could also appear on the soundtrack to My Super Sweet 16. That includes Ashley Tisdale, who returns as thwarted musical theater queen Sharpay and is the soundtrack's star. The shift to an even more conventional, pop-friendly sound isn't really surprising, especially considering that nearly all of High School Musical's stars released solo albums in the wake of the movie's success. "Gotta Go My Own Way," a bittersweet duet between Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, features the gentle beats and acoustic guitars that have been mainstays of teen pop ballads since the late '90s. Disney found more stories to tell about Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, and Taylor, and more songs for them to sing - High School Musical 2's plot revolves around summer vacation, a love triangle, and, of course, a talent show - but this soundtrack feels a lot closer to Radio Disney than show tunes. Likewise,High School Musical 2's soundtrack is louder and brasher, operating under the principle that turning up the volume will distract from the fewer, and less inspired, songs here. While the original movie had a surprising amount of personality and sweetness, as well as songs that actually sounded like they could have appeared in a high-school musical, its glitzy sequel feels more like High School Musical: The Ride. R.Making household names out of its cast - not to mention lots and lots of money - High School Musical was too successful not to spawn a second installment.
